SUPPORT AROUND DEATH

NES Bereavement Resources for Health & Social Care Professionals

New 'Anticipatory Grief' animation coming soon

01/09/21

We're delighted to announce that our Anticipatory Grief animation for health and social care professionals will be launching soon.

This resource will highlight what 'anticipatory grief' or ‘living grief’ is, e.g. when someone experiences feelings of loss before the time of a person’s death. It’s important for health and care professionals to be aware of anticipatory grief and be alert to situations where it may be affecting people or families who are in their care. This could be the partner of a person with dementia, the child of someone with a terminal illness or parents whose child has been diagnosed with a life-limiting or life-altering condition.

Keep an eye on our Support Around Death Video Wall for when it becomes available, and to view our other resources.
