Death Certification Review Service Annual Report: 2016–2017

This report marks the end of the Death Certification Review Service's second year of operation, delivering a national system of proportionate, independent scrutiny of those deaths in Scotland not reported to the Procurator Fiscal. 

The aims of the Death Certification Review Service are to improve:

1)   the quality and accuracy of MCCDs

2)  public health information about causes of death in Scotland

3)  clinical governance in relation to death certification.
