Supporting People Bereaved by Suicide - a good practice guide for organisations that respond to suicide may be particularly useful for professionals.

If a patient dies by suicide: A Resource for Psychiatrists provides information about dealing with suicide for psychiatrists of all levels, from trainees to experienced consultants.

  • This booklet and the survey that informed it were produced at the University of Oxford Centre for Suicide Research and endorsed by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. It was produced by a multidisciplinary group of clinicians and researchers, all of whom have experienced deaths of patients by suicide during their careers

 

Suicide Bereavement Support Service (delivered by Penumbra and Support in Mind Scotland)

  • This free service is for anyone living in the Highlands or Argyll and Bute who is impacted by the loss of someone to suicide – this may be families, friends, children and young people. It can also be accessed by those living outwith these areas when the death happened in the Highlands or Argyll and Bute.
