SUPPORT AROUND DEATH

Getting Bereavement Right Every Time

Bereavement Learning Session

18/09/25

Talking about grief and bereavement can feel daunting — what do you say, what words should you avoid, and how do you manage your own emotions?

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) has created two learning sessions, Getting Bereavement Right Every Time, to help health and social care staff feel more confident and supported in these moments. The sessions have already received excellent feedback, and we’re delighted to offer repeat opportunities to attend.

Next session, Thursday 26 February 13:00 – 15:00

Registration now open

In this session, you’ll gain:

  • An introduction to grief and bereavement
  • Practical guidance on what to say (and what not to say)
  • Greater confidence in supporting people who are bereaved
  • Space to reflect on your own feelings when someone you know has died
