01/11/21

Being Homeless at the End of Life webinar - 22nd September 2021

Speakers Ellie Wagstaff, Policy and Public Affairs Manager (Scotland), Marie Curie and Dr Joy Rafferty, Specialty Doctor in Palliative Medicine, Strathcarron Hospice led this session.

This webinar addressed the provision of end-of-life and bereavement care for people experiencing homelessness, particularly their increased likelihood of encountering multiple, sudden and/or traumatic bereavements, the barriers they face to receiving equivalent levels of support, and how health and social care professionals can help to overcome the gap in quality of care. It also covered the needs of those who work in homeless support services and experience bereavement in the course of their work.
